On 13-15 February 2023, the Environmental Forensic Sciences Centre held a workshop on the ivory trade. In addition to lectures by EFSC staff, there were also presentations by representatives of the Ministry of the Environment, the Agency for Nature and Landscape Protection, the Czech Environmental Inspectorate, the Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Academy of Sciences, etc. It also included a practical exercise on ivory determination, which allowed all 60 participants to compare first-hand the differences between different types of materials interchangeable with ivory.
This workshop was organised within the project “Effective use of forensic evidence methods to combat wildlife crime” which was supported by the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic from the Programme Strategic support for the development of security research 2019-2025 (IMPAKT 1), project number VJ01010026.
